BEAM2018: Shining a light on new British musical theatre
BEAM2018 is a two day biennial industry showcase of new British musical theatre. The work is found via a series of innovative pitching days held at key producing venues across the UK.
Over two days you can expect to see new work by up to 40 British writers. Key industry figures will be gathered together to view the most exciting talent and emerging projects from across the UK.
No other showcase goes as far to find the most promising new musicals in development.
You don’t want to miss out.
“I’ve never felt a buzz quite like it… while new writing of plays thrives in theatres up and down the land, there’s hardly ever been a truly co-ordinated attempt to develop and promote new musicals from the ground up. Until now… What BEAM2016 did was bring writers and supporters of new musicals to the same party – and make them part of a community… It was an inspiring event – and a provocative one. The future of British musicals may well have been born in those two days.”
